There are fine Swiss batiste fabrics in various weights as well as Japanese Lawn and Swiss broadcloth. But the heirloom sewer does not have to only use batiste fabrics, you might think about choosing Irish linen for your project. The Irish linen will work well with the French and English laces for achieving the lovely heirloom sewn by machine look. You will find any of these fabrics stocked in white, ecru as well as some soft pastel shades. The heirloom fabrics vary in width.
