Delicate Stitches by Sylvia specializes in having a variety of Sea Island
cotton fabrics. We have very soft Sea Island cotton knits in solids and
prints. We carry white, baby pink and baby blue in the solids and sweet
prints on white backgrounds. The Sea Island cotton knits are wonderful for
baby items from clothing to bedding. The Sea Island cottons are machine
washable.
Genuine Sea Island cotton is one of the
longest, finest, and purest strains of cotton, superior
to pima, Egyptian, and Peruvian cottons in both strength
and luster. “Most of the companies that use Sea Island
cotton today actually blend it with lesser cottons to
lower the price,” says Carstarphen, whose debut
collection of polo shirts, sweaters, and crew socks
recently was launched through the J. Peterman catalog.

costly cotton varieties. It is known for its silky feel,
